AIP invests in a 312 MW Nordic onshore wind portfolio with two Swedish acquisitions

Copenhagen, 28 September 2026 – AIP Management, a specialist investor in energy and decarbonisation infrastructure, today announced the acquisition of two operational onshore wind farms in Sweden, establishing a 312 MW portfolio of operating Nordic renewables.

The two assets are Aldermyrberget, a 71 MW wind farm in northern Sweden acquired in June 2026, and Överturingen, a 241 MW wind farm in central Sweden, signed in September 2026. Both are operational and generating renewable power and revenues today. AIP intends to build a larger portfolio of operating Nordic renewables over time.

The acquisitions were made through Project Winter, a strategy developed to acquire operating Nordic wind assets during a period of limited transaction activity and challenging new-build economics. Both assets have been operating since 2020 and 2022, respectively, and use current-generation turbines under long-term service agreements. AIP acquires assets where the underlying quality is strong and takes a long-term approach to ownership and stable contracting.

The portfolio spans two Swedish price zones. Diversification across zones, sites and turbine types reduces concentration risk, and scale is expected to broaden access to corporate power purchase agreements as the portfolio grows.

Domenico Tripodi, Partner and Co-Head of Investments at AIP, said: “Swedish onshore wind has repriced sharply since 2021, driven by zonal price divergence rather than anything to do with the assets themselves. That has created an opportunity to acquire high-quality operating capacity in a market where very few are transacting. We built a strategy to acquire into that, and these two assets are the beginning of it.”

Kasper Hansen, CEO & Managing Partner at AIP, said: “Project Winter is an example of the approach we take across AIP. We look for markets where long-term fundamentals are sound and where we can see the opportunity to create real long-term value, build conviction early and then move decisively when opportunities emerge. These acquisitions reflect both our long experience in the Nordic energy sector and our focus on creating value through disciplined entry rather than financial engineering.”
